About Old Whittington
In 1688, they tried to start a revolution in Old Whittington. Three local noblemen met at the Cock and Pynot alehouse to plan to overthrow King James II. The ‘glorious revolution’ saw William of Orange become king. The pub, now known as Revolution House, is now a free public museum dedicated to the events of the time.
In 2017, we’re starting a new revolution in the village – a whole new approach to building super-energy efficient homes.
Old Whittington is just two miles from Chesterfield town centre – and an easy 10 mile commute up the nearby A61 to Sheffield. The local bus service to town stops right outside our new homes.
